Travis Foster, age 43, of Waverly, SD, died on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the South Shore High School Gymnasium.
Travis Lester Foster was born January 16, 1981 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Watertown, SD to Terry and Mary Jane Foster. He came home to four older siblings, Joe, Chris, Amy and Wayne.
Travis graduated from Waverly High School and was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. He started working in the construction field at the young age of 15. He continued this career his whole life. He found joy operating construction machines and moving dirt! You would never lose Travis in a crowd as he always wore a florescent color no matter the occasion.
His biggest love was when he became a Dad to Jasmine and then to Tess. His daughters meant the world to him. Travis also loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Travis was an avid Scooby Doo lover. He had a huge love for music, it didn’t matter what era or genre; he would hear the introduction to a song and would tell you the name, year and artist who sang it. Travis also loved movies; Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, you name it, he probably saw it.
Travis recently started a hobby of woodworking that he enjoyed with his daughters, Jasmine and Tess. He loved teaching them and spending that time together.
Travis had an amazing great big heart that was so giving. His life will continue on in others as he was an organ/tissue donor. He was able to give others life through his donation.
Grateful to have shared his life are his parents, Terry and Mary Jane Foster of Waverly, SD; his daughters, Jasmine and Tess of Gary, SD; his siblings, Joe (Laura) Sibson of Green, KS, Chris (Connie) Sibson of Goodwin, SD, Amy (Tim) Nisich of Watertown, SD, Wayne (Judy) Foster of Harrisburg, SD; and his special friend, Megan Mueller.
Travis is preceded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Marko (John & Maxine); Grandma and Grandpa Foster (Ted & Irene) and other special relatives.
