Ronald Siemonsma

Ronald Siemonsma, age 66, of Dell Rapids, SD, passed away at his home in Dell Rapids on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Dell Rapids, SD.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the Reformed Church of Dell Rapids with Pastor Brogan Mohlenkamp officiating.

Ronald Siemonsma was born June 28, 1959 in Dell Rapids and was raised by his parents Gerard & Anastasia (Schwabach) Siemonsma. He attended Dell Rapids St. Mary and graduated in 1977. He married Janna Kooima on July 15, 1989. They made their home in Dell Rapids, SD where they raised their five children. Ron started his career at T&R Electric in Colman, SD and later moved to Jerry’s Electric in 1988 where he remained employed until the time of his death. During his time at Jerry’s he had a lawn mowing service with his sons. He also found joy in helping his brothers & son, Grant, with field work.

Ron was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother & friend whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He especially cherished his 10 grandchildren who brought endless pride, laughter, and happiness. Whether attending their activities (he never missed one), sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together, he treasured every moment spent with them.

Ron took great pride in caring for his Lawn. He found satisfaction in maintaining a beautiful yard and could often be found outside tending to it with care and dedication. His well-kept lawn was a reflection of the pride he took in creating a welcoming place for family & friends.

Known for his kindness, strong work ethic, and putting others first, Ron touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generosity, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Janna (Kooima) Siemonsma; children, Lance & Meghan Siemonsma, Wesley & Isla; Grant & Jayden Siemonsma, Riggin & Silas; Kelli & Tim Hubers, Blake, Laine & Tate; Brittney & Noah Ellis, Kade, Veyda & Jettson; Sheldon Siemonsma & Chantel Brende; brothers, Tom & Becky Siemonsma, Ken & Marcia Siemonsma, Mike & Karla Siemonsma; sisters, Lois & Tom Flannery, Judy & Roger Fiegen; and sister-in-law, Laura Struck; and many nieces & nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Gerard & Anastasia Siemonsma; brothers, Gerald & Jeffery Siemonsma; sister, Rita Siemonsma; nephew, Chad Siemonsma; niece, Paula Siemonsma; and in-laws, Ken & Dora Kooima.
