Mark Allen Karli, 71, passed away suddenly on January 28 th , 2021, at Lahey Burlington Medical Center of complications from Covid-19. A memorial gathering with family present will be held from 2-4:00 PM Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.

Mark was born August 28 th , 1949, in Sioux Falls, SD to the late Milton and Norma Karli of Garretson, SD.

Growing up in South Dakota, Mark enjoyed dirt track racing and owned and raced a C-dragster at the local tracks. Mark graduated from Garretson High School in 1967 and went on to attend Southwest Minnesota State where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1973. He went on to earn his master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska in 1975. A Midwest transplant from South Dakota, he adopted Massachusetts as his own and began working as a Child Psychologist outside of Boston. After many years in that career, Mark decided to make the move and start a new career building houses and developing neighborhoods in the suburb of Franklin Massachusetts. He eventually started his own company in the 1990’s Karli Excavation which led to Landscape Express where he worked from 2009 until his passing,

He was a brother, a husband, a dad, a “Bumpa” and uncle and a friend. Throughout his life Mark was an airplane pilot, a motorcyclist and motorcycle accident survivor, Mark walked a half marathon defying all odds after his motorcycle accident and hip replacement. He loved to fly drones and lived for the World of Wheels in Boston.

Mark is survived by his brothers, Steve Karli (Belinda) of Sioux Falls and Dean Karli (Edith) Garretson. Step Daughters: Meagen Robitalle (Adam) of Newburyport MA and Ryan Bethune (Steve) of Newton NH. 3 step grandchildren, 9 nieces and 11 great grandnieces and nephews.
