Leon Keith Rowell

Leon Keith Rowell, age 63, of Dell Rapids, SD, sadly left us on Thursday, March 7, 2024, following a long journey of fighting with cancer. A private family service will be at a later date.

Leon was born in Fremont, Nebraska to Ronald Rowell and Mary Ann Johannsen. He attended high school in Florence, South Dakota. He married Melanie Erickson in December of 1984.

Leon loved anything to do with electronics, computers, and his family. He spent most of his days playing on his computer as well as building computers. Leon loved to go camping and fishing with his wife, children, and family members. He loved to play music with his guitars. Leon did a lot of learning to be able to do HVAC and to be an electrical technician. Leon was a jack of all trades, except for working on vehicles.

Leon is survived by his wife, Melanie Rowell; children: Hannah Elmore, Chet Rowell, Eric Rowell, Stephanie Rowell, Dylan Flogstad and Zackeriah Rice. Grandchildren: Dawson Elmore, Kaylynn Elmore, Casen Elmore, Braylynn Elmore, Trenton Pierce, Melvin Rice, Jameson Rowell, Raiden Rowell, Drenen Rowell, Zayden Rowell, and Emberlynn Rowell; sisters: Barb Rowell (Pat Olson), Tammy Rowell (Merl Hanson); brother, Roger (Amanda) Crook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Kristen Rowell, Ronald Rowell, Jeanne Rowell and Mary Ann Hritz.
