Lana J. Thomas

Lana Jeanne Thomas, age 68, of Baltic, SD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She dedicated her life to caring for, nurturing and healing others.
Lana was united in marriage to Bernie Ostwald in 1972 and they were blessed with two children, Kristina and Kacy, through their union. During their twenty + years together, they also provided a loving home and support to several foster children. In May of 1993, Lana got her Bachelor’s Degree in Art from BHSU and later earned her Master’s in Health Psychology from Capella University.
Lana later married DeWitt (Tom) Thomas and they were blessed with their youngest son, Kenzie. Lana spent many years being an organic gardener, published author, herbalist, Holistic Health coach and Angelic Healer. She brought joy, light, laughter, and unconditional love to this world that was felt by many. While we will miss her dearly, we know she is still spreading happiness from above.
From one of her poems: “Some day I will soar with wings/ I will move beyond my earthly pace/ I will move with speed when I hold hands with grace.”
