Kristi Ann Reierson-McWayne passed away February 18, 2025, at St. Mary’s (Mayo) Hospital, Rochester, MN. Graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at St. Jacob’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Colton.

Kristi Ann Reierson-McWayne was born on July 30, 1959 in Dell Rapids, SD to Rev. Roy & Estelle Reierson. She attended elementary school in Veblen, SD and graduated from Rapid City Central (SD) High School. She then attended Augustana College (now University) graduating in 1981 with a degree in French. She began her teaching career in Big Foot High School, Walworth, WI teaching French and retired from BFHS 35 years later.

Kristi was united in marriage to James P. McWayne on October 26, 1984 in Colton, SD. They made their home in Delavan, WI and later Janesville, WI. Jim passed away in 1998. Kristi later moved to Walworth.

Kristi was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walworth, where she was active in music, quilting, worship and church council, and had served as the president of the congregation. She also was part of the Bell Choir at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church, Elkhorn, WI. In the community she was on the Walworth Village Board as a Trustee and the Big Foot High School of Education.

Kristi is survived by her mother, Estelle Pearson, sister Karen Reierson, brother-in-law John (Jean) McWayne, aunts and cousins, special friends Dean & Elizabeth Abel and their daughters Emily and Sarah, and her beloved kitties - Pantoufle, Binx and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim McWayne, father Rev. Roy Reierson, step father Roger Pearson, in-laws John & Marian McWayne, and brother-in-law Robert McWayne.
