John Ralph Wickert

John R. Wickert, 63, of Crooks, SD, passed away on September 4th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on November 29th, 1960, in Milwaukee, WI. He and Karen Lassanske were married on July 28th 1990. In 1996, he and his family moved to South Dakota. Throughout his life, he was known for his kindness, dedication, and the love he had for his family and friends. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Karen Wickert, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage, and a proud father to his son, Dustin Wickert, and daughter, Miranda Wickert.

John spent his career working with fire trucks, a profession he was deeply passionate about. His work made a lasting impact on the communities he served.

In his free time, John enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including sailing, hunting, fishing, photography, and cooking. He found joy and peace in the outdoors and took great pride in sharing his passions with his family and friends.

John requested a small service with immediate family, providing them with a personal goodbye. His presence will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family, who were always his top priority. He leaves behind cherished memories with Karen, Dustin, and Miranda, as well as countless friends and extended family.
