Harold A Swenson

Harold A. Swenson, age 69, of Brandon, SD, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at his home in Brandon.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Swedona Evangelical Covenant Church rural Brandon, SD with Pastor Mick Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at the Swedona Church Cemetery. Military rites offered by the Sioux Falls American Legion Post 15 Honor Guard.

A time to greet the family will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Harold Allen Swenson was born May 23, 1956 in Dell Rapids, SD to Alvin and Hazel (Oien) Swenson. He received his education in Brandon, SD. In 1974 he entered the United States Army in Fort Leonard Wood, MO then fought in the Vietnam war and he was honorably discharged in 1976.

Harold was a semi and concrete truck driver for the majority of his life and worked for Gerry’s Concrete for 20 years. There was never a day his radio wasn’t tuned in playing country music. Harold spent countless hours fishing with friends or thinking about his next fishing adventure. He looked forward to his random lunches with Tom and Lonnie along with his phone chats with buddy Jim. Harold never knew a stranger because he made friends with anyone he met. He will be missed by many friends and family.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews. Connie Gschwind, Eugene (Angela) Peterson, Darla Swenson, Glen Swenson, Karen (Grant) Hanisch, Donald (Sara) Swenson. Great nieces/nephews Angela Sandholm, Jennifer (Mark) Ackerman, Jeremiah Peterson, Cody Gschwind,Kyle Gschwind, Ashley Pageler, Amanda (Matt) Mattson, Brianna Peterson, Cody (Amber)Swenson,Jesse Swenson, Kole Hanisch, Kaylee Hanisch, Kyle Hollingshead and their families

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Hazel Swenson; brother, Ordell (Vi) Swenson, sister Rosalie (Bob) Peterson, niece Sharon Swenson.
