Dennis Jorgensen

Dennis James Jorgensen, 62, passed away on September 20, 2026, surrounded by his siblings. Memorial visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids, with a family led Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Private family interment will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Dell Rapids.

Dennis was born on December 14, 1963, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Wendell and Margaret (Zeig) Jorgensen. He grew up and lived in Dell Rapids and attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Dell Rapids, SD. Dennis worked as a custodian at St. Mary after graduating as well as for Kevin Parks. He then started his own business: Jorgensen Refinishing. He retired from his business in 2026. He had the gift of making anything old look new. Dennis was an avid car enthusiast, attending many car shows with many trophies to show his hard work. He would often let kids go get his trophy and give it to them. Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends. Dennis always had a smile on his face and usually made you smile or laugh. Those who knew Dennis couldn't help themselves from laughing at his sense of humor.

Dennis is survived by his siblings: brothers, Ron Jorgensen (Shari Groen), Madison, SD, Tom (Crystal) Jorgensen, Madison, NE, and his twin brother, Dan Jorgensen, Dell Rapids, SD; sisters: Joanne Weelborg, Dell Rapids, SD, Janet (Bill) Weber, Sioux Falls, SD, Karen Tramp, Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Margaret Jorgensen; sister, Connie Lindholm; sister-in-law, Barb Jorgensen; brother-in-law, Steve Tramp; and great niece, Maggie Jones.
