Danny Lynn Jorgensen of Renner, South Dakota, passed away on April 17, 2024, at his home with his wife by his side following a short illness. Danny was born on October 17th, 1943, to George and Grace Jorgensen. He grew up in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School in 1961. Following his graduation, he served in the U.S. Army.

Dan and Sue were united in marriage on February 8th, 1997, in Las Vegas. Dan worked most of his life at John Morrell and served as the UFCW president prior to retiring. He also enjoyed farming. Dan was an avid outdoorsman his entire life. His true passion was fishing and competing with his friends during tournaments. He really enjoyed telling his stories after he got back on shore. You couldn’t tell if he was serious or not because he was a talker. Some of his best times were fishing with his favorite partner, and that was his wife. Dan had a great smile and loved to be around friends and family. If you needed help, Dan would be there. He could build almost anything. His favorite saying was “It’s OK!” The most memorable times were spent enjoying the holidays at “The Farm” surrounded by his loved ones.

Dan is survived by his wife, Sue; daughter, Danell (David) Bowling; son, Jody (Jenni) Jorgensen; stepchildren, Scott Rubin, Troy (Betty) Rubin, and Teri Jo (Jeremy) Feltzer; grandchildren, Cyrus and Grace; step-grandchildren, Tami (Josh) Brehmer, Tonya (Jeremy) Fitz; and great-grandchildren, Harlyn, Silas, and Adella. Dan’s two brothers, Sam and Steve, and his sister, Georgia (Larry) Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with many great friends.

A special “thank you” to everyone who called and visited Dan. He enjoyed reminiscing with all of them. Stories were told, and great laughter was shared. The family would also like to thank the Avera Hospice Team. Per Dan’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
