Brooke Ollerich, age 21, of Hartford, SD, passed away on Friday, October 12th, 2018.

Funeral services for Brooke will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. George Catholic Parish Hall, Hartford.  Visitation will be from 4-6:30 PM Wednesday in the St. George Catholic Church, Hartford.

Brooke was born March 13, 1997, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Thomas and Debby Ollerich. Brooke graduated from Tri-Valley School, attended Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington WY, and the Tom Rose School for professional dog training in High Ridge, MO. While in high school she was involved in FFA, high school rodeo, 4H Rodeo and Little Britches rodeos. Her two greatest passions were horses and dogs.

Her greatest accomplishment in rodeo was placing in the National Little Britches Rodeo Finals in the Senior Team Roping with partner Rieley Maier. Rodeo created an opportunity for Brooke and her family to make memories, have lots of laughs, and form bonds that will never be forgotten. Most days you would find Brooke riding her horses, specifically her favorite horses Kat and Valley, in the arena practicing her rodeo events.

Training Jack and King, two Belgian Malinois, were her most current endeavors. She recently started her own business, Jack’s K9 Training, specializing in obedience, protection, scent detection, herding, and search and rescue. Alongside training, Brooke enjoyed working as a coach for the Minnehaha County 4H Dog Program. She particularly enjoyed sharing her skills and knowledge with her clients and her younger students.

Brooke had a special bond with her brother Ty, who she looked up to through the moments they shared growing up. They were inseparable. He was always teaching and advising her on everyday tasks. Their most recent task was creating a home for him in Newell, SD. Brooke was driven and strived to give Ty the best. She was proud to be able to give back to her brother. She also created great friendships with her cousins; whenever they got together it was all laughs, jokes, and love. Although she left us at such a young age, her vibrant smile and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

Cherishing Brooke’s memory are her parents: Thomas and Debby; brother Ty; grandparents: Robert and Phyllis Ollerich and Wilma Tillgren. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she loved very much. Preceding her in death was her grandfather, David Tillgren, great grandparents Melvin and Evelyn Tillgren.
