James T. Haley, 86, of Luverne formerly of Sherman died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. There will be no visitation.
James Thomas Haley was born January 15, 1924 at Sherman to parents Gerald and Marie (Dolge) Haley. He grew up in the Sherman area and graduated from Sherman High School. After his education he entered the United Sates Navy and served during World War II.
James married Oreta Ladd July 1956. They lived in Visalia, California, Norman, Oklahoma, Fairmont, Minnesota and then moved to the Minnesota Veterans home in Luverne.
He is survived by nieces and nephews and a sister in law, Ione Haley, Longmont, CO; and other relatives and friends.
