Joan B. Harris

Joan Bernice Harris, 62, of Garretson, South Dakota died Wednesday March 25 at Pallisade Manor in Garretson.

Joan was born on December 2, 1946 in Sexsmith, Alberta, Canada to Leo and Dora Nelson. She graduated from Devil's Lake School for the Deaf and was employed by Luthern brotherhood in Minneapolis before marrying Dale Harris on July 17, 1972 in Grinnell, Iowa. Joan spent her last years in the Sioux Falls area where she had many friends that she enjoyed so much. She was always quick with a smile and had a beautiful laugh.

Joan is survived by her daughter Cindy; her sisters Faye and Joyce; and her brothers Larry and Kenny. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

A graveside service was held for Joan at the Chester Cemetery in Grinnell on Tuesday, March 31.
