Richard Allen “Chris” Christensen, 76, of rural Baltic died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Sanford Foundation Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls.
Private family services will be held.
Richard Allen Christensen was born July 20, 1939 on a farm near Humboldt to parents Alvin and Ardella (Theel) Christensen. He grew up in the Humboldt-Hartford area and graduated from Hartford High School.
Richard married Janet Gardiner on July 25, 1957. They lived in Sioux Falls until moving to a acreage in the Baltic-Renner area. He owned and operated Western Auto Glass and later was a salesman for Billion Motors.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Janet, Baltic; children, Kevin (Sue) Christensen, Sioux Falls; Lori Christensen, Chancellor; Lynette Schmitt, Fargo, North Dakota; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
