Lorraine Maxine Carson was born to parents Albert and Alma (Thompson) Carson on Sunday, August 12, 1923 at the Carson Family Homestead southeast of Colton.  She grew up there and was baptized on Sept 2, 1923 and confirmed on June 26, 1938 at the First Lutheran Church in Colton.  As a young girl, she was given the nickname "Lolly."

Lolly attended all 12 years at Lyons Consolidated School, graduating from Lyons High School on May 23, 1941.  After high school, Lolly worked in Colton and Sioux Falls and eventually worked in the John Morrell Time and Credit Departments from 1945 to 1957.  At John Morrell, her friends called her "Kit" Carson.

On May 26, 1957, Lolly was married to Orlando ("Eric") Erickson at the First Lutheran Church in Colton.  They made their home in Eric's hometown of Baltic where she joined the Baltic Lutheran Church.  Lolly was a good homemaker and became a loving Mom to their only child, Dale.

Her Faith and the church remained Lolly's solid foundation all of her life.  Until her health prevented, she was active in the church, serving as former ALCW treasurer, Naomi Circle treasurer, Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and also Sunday School Superintendent. She was also a former member of the choirs in Colton and Baltic.

She enjoyed music all of her life, and was blessed with the talent of playing the piano by ear since age 4.  She played for her own entertainment and also for church and school functions, and family gatherings.  She especially enjoyed playing with the Baltic Accordion Band organized for the Baltic Centennial in 1981 and which continued until 2000.

After Lolly suffered a stroke in April 2011, she moved into the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center on April 29, 2011.  There she enjoyed new friends and her family and friends that came to visit her in her "apartment."  Although no longer able to play the piano after the stroke, she continued to enjoy music every day.

Lolly passed away at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center on Sunday, January 18th, 2015 at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 6 days.  She is lovingly remembered by her husband Orlando "Eric" of Baltic, her son Dale, of Baltic, five nieces, four nephews, and four cousins, and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Walter (Alice) Carson, her sister, Gyneth (Elmer "Sam") Stene, her sister-in-law Inez (Henry) Johnson, three nephews, Wallace Stene, Odell and Ivan Johnson, and one niece Carol (Carson) Keeley; and many cousins.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Baltic Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the East Nidaros Lutheran Church, Baltic. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Tuesday with the family present from 5-7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.
