Raymond Dean Anderson, age 62, of Garretson died on Thursday, November 13, 2014 peacefully at his home.

Memorial services will begin at 1:30 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Split Rock Lutheran Church, rural Brandon. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Tuesday prior to services at the church.

Ray was born October 20, 1952 in Sioux Falls South Dakota. He grew up on the family farm near Garretson, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Split Rock Lutheran Church. Ray graduated from Garretson High School in 1971.
Ray worked in the Garretson area as a mechanic and spent the last fifteen years employed at Sioux Equipment in Sioux Falls.

Ray was a volunteer on the Garretson Fire Department and drove the ambulance. He participated in dart and bowling leagues. He enjoyed attending area farm and equipment shows.

Survivors include his daughter, Nicole Sik (Jason), Brookings; grandchildren, Alyssa and Brayden; sister, Karen Hagedorn, Minnetonka, MN; brothers, Richard (Sue) Anderson, San Tan Valley, AZ and Peter Anderson, Sioux Falls; nephews, Mike (Maria) Stelling, Sioux Falls, SD, Jimmy (Nichole) Anderson, Hartford, SD, Jurgen (Katie) Hagedorn, Minnetonka, MN; and niece, Shelly Paulsrud Brooklyn Park, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Alice Anderson.
