Jerry Wayne Zweep, age 63, of Sioux Falls, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson. Burial will follow at the Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural Garretson. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 PM Friday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.

Jerry was born on January 25, 1951, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Donald and Flora (Voegeli) Zweep. He grew up in Garretson, graduated from Garretson High School, and later attended college in Spearfish, South Dakota. Jerry worked for the railroad as a Roadmaster for 30 years. He also owned and operated the Dew Drop Laundromat in Rapid City, South Dakota for several years. Jerry retired from his career as Roadmaster in 2004. On July 31, 2004, he married Colleen Klaassen.

Jerry kept busy watching his favorite teams, the Vikings and the Twins, as well as NASCAR Racing. One of his favorite pastimes was watching the birds at his bird feeders. He also enjoyed the company of pets, Maddie and Gracie. Jerry looked forward to his daily visits with his favorite home health care provider, Tina. He and Colleen enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. They traveled as much as they could and particularly enjoyed their trips to the Black Hills.

Jerry went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, at the age of 63.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen, Sioux Falls; Jerry's children: Katie, Amanda, and James of Sioux City, IA; step-children: Jesse Zweep (Jaime Kiss), Louisville, NE, Abby (Ryan) Brost, Sioux Falls, and Emily (Thomas) Leuthold, Fayetteville, NC; parents: Donald and Flora Zweep, Brandon; sisters: Fae (Ron) Rogen, Audubon, MN, Renee (Ken) Wolf, Adrian, MN, and Connie (Terry) Johnson, Garretson; along with many nieces and nephews.
