Mary J. Svendsen, 71, of Dell Rapids died Good Friday morning April 18, 2014 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids.  Visiation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Thursday with a Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids.

Mary J. Moran was born January 23, 1943 in Madison, South Dakota. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1961. Mary and Dale were married in 1964 and they lived in the Dell Rapids and Trent area.

Mary was a devoted and patient wife and mother. She worked in Flandreau to be close to her children while they were involved in school activities. Mary retired after 21 years at Riverview Rehabilitation Healthcare Center in 2007.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Dale Svendsen, Dell Rapids; her children, Linda (Mike) Schmitz, Monument, CO; Donna Svendsen, Sioux Falls; Roger (Robin) Svendsen, Vermillion; Diane Bunkers, Colton; Carol (Keith) Jullie, Brooklyn Park, MN; ten grandchildren; a sister, Madonna Schlotterback, Madison; two brothers, Dean Moran, Pasco, WA and Mark Moran, Wentworth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Vera (Schmidt) Moran.
