Dorothy Ann Louise was born April 11, 1925 on her family’s farm home near Hartford to parents Harry and Annette (Byg) Munce. She attended the McLeod County School and graduated from Hartford High School. After high school Dottie and her best friend Adeline Schulz traveled to Los Angeles, where she worked as a sales girl in a soda shop. She then returned to Colton and married Peter L. Swier on January 4, 1945. She along with our father nurtured four children, Thomas Owen, Sandra Lynn, Walter John, and Kay Annette. She lived an active life working hard on the family farm alongside her husband. If she ever had some down time, you would find her reading. She passed on her love of words and passion for reading to all four of her children. Pete died July 20, 1998.
Dottie was a member of the Faith Community Church in Colton.
