Dallas C. Vosburg

Dallas Vosburg, 88, of Colton, died on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Colton. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Monday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Dallas was born on October 28, 1924, on the family farm near Granite, Iowa, to Clinton and Ruth (Johnson) Vosburg. After attending rural country school, he graduated from Larchwood High School on May 21, 1942. Upon his graduation, Dallas continued farming on the family farm.

Dallas married Myrna Annabelle Kuhns on September 11, 1954, at the Canton United Methodist Church. In 1967 they moved to a rural home near Colton. Dallas then worked for a manufacturing company in Sioux Falls until 1980 when he and Myrna started an upholstery shop in their home. After retiring in 1986, Dallas enjoyed working in his large gardens from which he would sell produce to friends and neighbors.

Grateful for having shared his life are his sons: David and Loren, both of Colton, and Bob (Carolyn) and Brad, both of Renner; four grandchildren: Cody, Dustin, Shelby, and Trace. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers: Gordon, Harold, Merle, and Clair; and a sister, Shirley.
