Dear Elaine, Gary, Dave & family, Was truly saddened to hear of Red's passing. He was such a great presence in our lives at school. It's been said that it takes a village to raise a child and he was a big part of that "village" to many of us kids in Baltic. My thoughts are with you all at this time of loss. Holly (Sittig) Swenson

Dear Elaine, Gary, and Dave, So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband, dad and grandpa. Harlan was such a great guy.
He made many a kid feel welcome and cared for over the years at Baltic School. I have fond memories of loads of little things he did to help and make us smile. He was a gem and and a role model.
You are all in our prayers for healing and peace. God Bless.

We are saddened by the news of Red's passing. I have watched your video several times and each time I remember the wonderful times we had at your lake home, both summer and winter. Elaine, you and Red had such an inspirational marriage for all of us to follow. I cannot recall you not smiling and laughing, just as the pictures show in the video.
Elaine, you look fabulous, and your family is precious.
Rest in Peace, Red. You will be missed.
Love always,
Le and Lou Etta

To David, Elaine....and Red's whole extended family!
Oh this was sad news that tugged at my heart today...to hear of Red's passing.
What a wonderful man you had for a husband, father and grandfather. I have not visited with him for a number of years now, but it didn't matter how much time elapsed since the previous visit.... he was always a kind, friendly, wonderful person.
There are many fond memories of him; like opening those doors at school early in the morning with that big king ring in his hand and a big smile on his face.
Sometimes he'd just stare at us through the glass for awhile... just teasing and smiling as we were lined up thinking we just had to hurry up and get through those doors. (not sure what our hurry was...once in we couldn't wait to 'get out'!?)
He was a gift.
You were blessed.
We were blessed.
He had a life that touched many.
Blessed be his memory to you.
I think I hear him playing in that 'old time' band up in heaven having a wonderfully good time.
In sympathy and Christian friendship,
Corey (Brobjorg) Thompson

Life like a mist appears for just a day then disappears tomorrow. All that we are can quickly fade away, replaced with tears and sorrow.
If a man should die, can he live again? Hear the promise God has made. Job 14:13-15
May God comfort you in your grief.
