In 1975, Myron graduated from the California College of Mortuary Science, Los Angeles. He served his apprenticeship at the Petrik-Kelly Funeral Homes in Tyndall, Scotland, and Tripp, South Dakota. In 1976 Myron moved to Baltic and became manager of Minnehaha Funeral Home in Baltic. Since then the funeral home has built chapels in Colton, Garretson and Dell Rapids. Myron is a licensed funeral director in South Dakota and Minnesota.
Myron is involved in community affairs and has been a member of the Baltic Volunteer Fire and Rescue since 1976, and served as fire chief for 8 years. He has previously served as President of Baltic Lutheran Church, Minnehaha County Economic Development Association, and South Dakota Funeral Directors Association. In 2007, Myron received the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation from the Academy Of Professional Funeral Service Practice. To attain the CFSP desigantion, Myron completed 180 hours of academic, professional, and public education activities.
